Seven more European countries join anti-Russian economic sanctions

MOSCOW, Jul 30 (PRIME) -- Montenegro, Albania, Island, Norway, Lichtenstein and Ukraine have confirmed their decision to join the anti-Russian sanctions prolonged earlier by the E.U., according to a statement of E.U. Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini seen by PRIME late Wednesday.

All these countries and Georgia also joined prolongation of sanctions against accession of Crimea to Russia.

The sanctions impose limits on loans to Russian banks, to oil and defense companies and supplies of arms and high-tech equipment for oil drilling.

On Thursday, spokesman for the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said that Russia follows principles of mutuality and will possibly reciprocate the sanctions.
